Runway 18/36

7,001'x100' grooved concrete runway. Runway 36 is a precision runway served with an ILS system and RNAV approach. Runway 18 is a non-precision runway served by an RNAV and VOR approach. Runway 36 and Runway 18 include a 4-light PAPI system. Elevation at both ends of the runway is 922'. 

Weather and NOTAMs

TYQ has an on-site AWOS-3PT system. Updated weather information can be accessed via 120.725 by dialing 317-769-3154, or view online at https://online.saiawos.com/TYQ/ios/display.html


NOTAMs are updated regularly and can be accessed via the FAA's NOTAM website.

UNICOM/Clearance Delivery

TYQ is an uncontrolled airfield. The CTAF/UNICOM frequency for the airfield is 123.05. The airport has a newly established clearance delivery frequency to Indianapolis TRACON from the ground. This radio is available on 118.175. If unavailable, ATC can be reached via phone on 317-227-5743.

Noise Mitigation

In order to mitigate noise for our neighbors to the south, Runway 36 has been designated as the calm-wind runway. We encourage the use of Runway 36 for takeoffs as much as possible.

Weight Bearing Capacity

Runway 18-36 has the following weight bearing capacity:

  • Single Wheel: 45
  • Double Wheel: 90
  • PCN: 37/R/B/W/T 

If you are unsure if your aircraft exceeds these maximums, please contact the Airport Director at 317-385-3015. 

PPRs

Prior permission (PPR) is required for all aircraft with greater than 30 passenger seats. Please contact the Airport Director (317-385-3015) or Jet Access (317-769-4487) to obtain additional information.
